Kazinczy Street Synagogue

Lovingly and beautifully restored to its former glory after near total destruction

From the Synagogue, it is a short walk to Andrassy Avenue, an iconic boulevard dating back to 1872, lined with spectacular Neo-renaissance mansions and townhouses.

Andrassy is one of the main shopping streets, with fine cafes, theaters, and luxury boutiques.  Think 5th Avenue and the Magnificent Mile.

The massive and historically significant Mathias Church. Two photos barely capture its grandeur

A charming flower shop reminds us of Anna and other hatsisters who love to garden

The exterior of The Great Market Hall, opened in 1897. It is the biggest and most gorgeous in Europe.

Központi Vásárcsarnok

There are souvenirs galore but also fresh local delicacies, fruits, vegetables, wines, spirits, salamis and meat products.

Archie would have preferred a "Hat Cafe," but cat lover John was intrigued and took a look...then a photo...

Taken from outside: There literally were cats roaming all around the cafe, much to the pleasure of customers reading their paper and having coffee
