Egrets made us feel at home

Toasting with Peru's finest and most famous cocktail:  Pisco Sour, made of Pisco, a Peruvian grape brandy

There is a total of 8 of us on this boat!  The other 6 are friends and family.  They warmly welcome and include us as both family and friend

There are not enough superlatives to describe the ambiance of our private dining room,

the place settings on our table (with drapery that changed every day to match),

or the uniqueness of the cuisine, with its different styles, herbs, spices, and exotic fruits

Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was a 5 star experience

Relaxing afterwards with our new traveling companions on the upper lounge deck

Breakfast...just like home....

Off for our San Isidro Flooded Forest Hike...a pristine and unique flooded ecosystem...dressed in clothes  and hat especially sprayed to ward off mosquitoes

Others weren't quite as concerned...

We will pass through a classic tropic rainforest with emergent trees and canopy trees reaching up to 55 meters in height

This type of forest is one of the richest habitats on earth, supporting the most species of plants and animals per unit area

A porcupine tree

A walking tree...

...that literally grows another "leg" and moves forward

Termites... only interested in biting wood...

...not the hand of our guide

A snake ready to bite???

How about someone wanting to tempt a tarantula???

Holy Schmole...there's a volunteer...

...and I think I know who he is!

See the tarantula on the right side of John's hat.

Now look closely on the LEFT side. Imagine it walking across the brim to get there
