DAY OF CARING

The Hat Ladies are proud to participate every year in two volunteer activities as part of the National Day of Caring...held to balance the horror of 9-1-1 with the goodness of Americans

Of course, it is comes as a great sacrifice since our faces ache the rest of the day from smiling and laughing so much.  If anyone doubts there is JOY in hats for people of all ages and cultures, these photos will prove it.

Charleston Area Senior Citizen Center

The Hat Ladies once again brought our patriotic program of hats, music, and good cheer to the members of this downtown Center. It was a great Day (for those giving AND receiving)!  Their Coordinator shared the following anecdote:

I asked one of the older grandpa’s from next door if he were coming to see you all, and he said “Of course – I like to call them the "Hot Ladies” with a little wink...............  And HOT HAT LADIES WE WERE!
