A FEW REFLECTIONS ON THE AFTERNOON:

Hello! I'm back in Chicago and I simply wanted to thank you for your hospitality! I very much enjoyed meeting you and the other delightful Hat Ladies. Everyone was so kind and I felt very welcome, it was such a nice feeling.

My mouth is still watering over the turkey sandwich. It was one of the best lunches we've ever had and a very fun anniversary!

Many thanks for such a wonderful anniversary luncheon!!!  I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!  It was wonderful to see you and others, especially some that I have not seen in a while.

Thank you so much. The luncheon was a smashing success.  I made new friends and have connected with friends of friends.

Thank you for arranging such a lovely luncheon.  I thought everything worked beautifully.  Everyone looked so wonderful after a long hot summer.

Thank you, with all my heart, for making our Fifteenth Anniversary Luncheon  so beautiful.  It was such a happy time for me. It was a gift to see so many of my dear Hat Sisters. The Mills House was absolutely lovely…my turkey and brie sandwich was delicious…and the service was great.  I loved the lighting of the candles ceremony.  Thank you! I should not have been surprised…but it blew me away when you invited the gentlemen from another wedding party to mingle and take pictures with us.  It never fails…something marvelous always happens when Hat Ladies are involved.

The Anniversary Lunch was incroyable et fantastique!!  You do such a wonderful job of organizing and connecting people. I really enjoyed sitting with a hatsister I met for the first time.  The chicken salad was great, and the staff were all very nice.  The only issue I noticed was it was hard to hear. However, that was a lot of female voices bouncing off hat brims to that may be an insurmountable problem :)

Nowfor  the speech given by our hatsister, Karen, moving to Michigan:

Well, I'm sad to say

I'm going away

And won't be back

For many a day!

My heart is down,

My head is turning around,

I have to leave all my friends

In Charlie-town

In July, I met my 2 granddaughters, born of daughter Molly i March.  They are now 6 months old.  The request made by my two daughters guiding into a conference call was, 'Mom, time to quite playing the surfer; we need you closer. ''I thought and cried, prayed and considered, and decided the decision was not whether to move East or remain West of the Ashley, but to turn North into the heart of my loving family.

So, once a couple of improvements are completed, my house will be listed. And God willing the roads don't freeze, I will be in Michigan for Thanksgiving, if not Halloween. My heart will always hold my hatsisters and Charleston dear. I hope to return for special events. Anyone have a spare room?
