DOING (THE) CHARLESTON
Charleston Magazine is the inspiration behind The Hat Ladies' Hat-pin-ings for 2025. They published "The Charleston Bucket List for every Holy City resident to do in honor of their 50th Anniversary. Although we "only" have 25 years under our hat, with a hat on our head and a smile on our face, we shall implement every possible item on their list.
Here is what we have already completed followed by the listing of wHAT's yet to come:
January:
Wednesday 15th: Vintage Modeira wine tasting and tour at Edmonston Alston House; joggling on the joggling board.
The joggling board is found on many piazas of the historic homes in downtown Charleston. A young man would sit at one end while the young lady he was courting would sit at the other. They would bounce on their respective end until they were sitting close together. If the Father of the young lady LIKED the young man, it is said he would "grease" the board to show his approval of an eventual "merger" between them.
February:
Saturday 1st: Tour International African American Museum; lunch, followed by Tour of historic Manigault House

(Optional Lunch afterwards on James Island, not pictured, Kimberly's Mom, due to a camera malfunction. Apologies!
