WARSAW, having been an industrial City, was heavily bombed during WWII.

However, a concerted effort was made to salvage what buildings they could and to rebuild the rest in their former style.

The result is astonishing. The Old City has been recreated on main streets as well as side streets.

Adding to their beauty is the fact they are set along The Vistula River

We loved seeing well behaved young school children being taught their heritage and history

Soon we come to the side streets...

...and begin our merrily meandering

We are in our glory, and Warsaw is in its!

The figures on the clock correspond to the zodiac; they appear and rotate as the time changes

The clock is on the side of the white building

More charming streets

With more outdoors cafes lining them

Another gorgeous church is discovered down one of them

An interesting depiction of the 14 Stations of The Cross
