Reflecting on the Experience

Come rain or shine, you can't keep a Hat Lady down!

We did it again... we pulled another trick out of our hats!!  I'm standing here the day after giving us all another standing ovation ... clapping as loudly as possible. We did it and we did it with style! It was a miserable day weather wise, but the Hat Ladies made it seem sunny. We always seem to stand taller wearing our hats. We all love the sisterhood of the Hat Ladies

It was truly an amazing Promenade this year in the rain, and I had a great time!

The Promenade was awesome!!!

The Parade was one of the best we've had!

A Huge Hats Off for organizing one of our best Promenades!  Despite the liquid sunshine, we all shined brightly!  I loved returning to our original location and format of strolling down the street, interacting with the parade watchers!  The addition of the musicians was wonderful, along with the singers, and the splitting off by 2's worked great as then we were able to see our Hat Sisters better!  The Promenade was truly a unique, fun experience that we will all remember and discuss for years!!!

I thought we were amazing today!  Although we didn't get to sparkle in the sun,  I believe we lit up everyone's hearts and spirits.

Well, despite the nasty weather (and my belief that it wouldn't happen), yesterday turned out to be a lovely day. After all, it's always good to get together with the hat sisters!  The lunch was delicious and reasonably priced, as well.  All-in-all another successful Promenade!

In spite of the rain, it was a wonderful promenade. All of the special touches such as the Mayor, the band, and the route were perfect. I loved the idea of peeling off when we reached East Bay. We got to see each other at our finest!

I just wanted to say out loud that yesterday was a wonderful example of the enthusiasm of the wonderful group of women, who are The Hat Ladies!!! A little rain will never dampen our spirit!!!!  The onlookers may be small in  numbers because of the weather, but, it did not matter!!  We had fun!!!

What can I say?  Another great Promenade; however, a little more interesting than some in the past.  It was still a wonderful day.  I look forward every year to seeing all of my Hat Sisters and having lunch with them.

We are like the mailmen; neither rain, hail, sleet or snow keeps us off the street!!  We had a great time and a wonderful table at 82 Queen. The new route was perfect; we got to see everyone’s hat as they passed by!

Absolutely wonderful today. Although I have been ill the past five months, today couldn't be missed & I think it was one of the best ever!!! (Maybe the music contributed to this!!! :-))

I heard that even with rain, Promenade was special. We Hat Ladies r a tough group. Blossoms was nice. So good to enjoy company of hat sisters. My husband always loved anything Hat Ladies. Rain or shine, I know his spirit will always be there.

Well, it did rain a little on our Parade, but nothing dampened our spirits or the lights we cast on the City of Charleston. We surely did 'shine ', as predicted by a very wise lady who I admire very much.... Another one for the books, a really fun venue for lunch; service was great, and the food marvelous.  The Watch at The Restoration Hotel is definitely a new favorite.

And from a friend in New York:  Yes it was The Hat Ladies of Charleston Parade that was on news here. You and other lady were standing together; I'm not sure it you had umbrella or not. They were saying how the rain didn't stop you all from coming out. I knew it was you as soon as I saw it.

Such a timeless event to participate in!
